Program Description
Get your fitness going with our Beginner Training Program. Train towards completing a 5K or use as a starting point for bigger goals next year.
If you are new to running or have taken an elongated break from it, join a welcoming, non-intimidating group with motivating coaches and leaders who have been in your shoes. We will walk you through an easy progression that will keep you injury free and motivated in a fun environment. Training schedules will ease you gently into it at a pace that's right for you.

How Does it Work?
We will introduce you very gently into running by beginning with a walk/run method, where we will gradually increase time spent running and decrease time spent walking, over 9 weeks.
You will join other beginner runners where everyone is in the same boat.
An expert coach and former beginner runners will look after the group and guide you through the program. You will also be given a training schedule to follow and email access to your coach for any questions. At the end of the program, you should be able to run a 5K (3.1 miles) without stopping.
What if I progress quickly?
When you feel ready, we will transition you into the regular Revolution Running group workouts.
Transitioning to the Regular Program
Everyone adapts and progresses to the training at different rates. If you go through the Beginner program and still don't feel quite ready to join the regular group, we will have a 4 week transition schedule to help you bridge the gap. This will be included in the Spring program training schedule.
