Ewen North - Training Club Director and Head CoachEwen North has been head Coach and Director of Revolution Running since 2005.
Born in Shrewsbury England, a competitive runner since the age of 7, Ewen has helped hundreds of runners improve and achieve their goals through the RevolutionRunning training program. A cross country and track school champion in his native England, Ewen spent his teenage years as a competitive mountain bike racer at the national level. He then returned to his first love, the sport of running at the age of 18 and decided to "get serious." Reaching the national level as a runner, he has competed in the British World Cross Country Trial and several other National Championship events. Ewen began his coaching experience as an assistant Coach at Adams State College in Colorado and also at The University of Nebraska Track and Field Team. He has a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology and Leisure Science with a specialization in Sports Psychology, adding to his wealth of knowledge and experiences as a coach. Ewen's main coaching philosophies are to promote health and fitness by creating a fun and interactive training environment. He believes that consistency is the key to improved fitness and that training should be kept simple and easy to understand. Ewen is still a competitive runner having competed at the NCAA Division I level for Oklahoma State University and in Division II for Adams State College, taking home all Big 12 honors and a third place team cross country championship in 2002. Ewen's coaching expertise comes from working with one of the nation's best coaches at Oklahoma State University, assistant coaching at the renowned Adams State University, and assistant coaching at the University of Nebraska. He melds these coaching strategies and techniques together with his own experiences with training/racing and his education on training and physiology. Schedules are tailored to get the most out of the athletes while keeping them motivated and healthy. Ewen has gone on to win many races including the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Canyonlands Half Marathon and the 2007 Other Half, in Moab Utah, 2005 Lake Tahoe Half Marathon, the 2005 and 06 Indian Summer 10K and the 2012 Leadville Heavy Half. He was also a member of the British Team at the 2006 BolderBoulder International Team challenge. Ewen has completed twelve marathon's finishing in a best of 2:28. |
