About the Presenters

Ewen North MS, BS

Picture
Ewen North has been Head Coach and Director of Revolution Running since 2005. Born in Shrewsbury England, a competitive runner since the age of 7, Ewen has helped hundreds of runners improve and achieve their goals through the Revolution Running training program.

A cross country and track school champion in his native England, Ewen spent his teenage years as a competitive mountain bike racer at the national level before also reaching the national level as a runner. He has competed in the British World Cross Country Trial and several other National Championship events.

Ewen began his coaching experience as an assistant Coach at Adams State College in Colorado and also at The University of Nebraska Track and Field Team.  He has a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology and Leisure Science with a specialization in Sports Psychology, adding to his wealth of knowledge and experiences as a coach.

Ewen's main coaching philosophies are to promote health and fitness by creating a fun and interactive training environment. He believes that consistency is the key to improved fitness and that training should be kept simple and easy to understand.

Dr. Heather North PT, DPT

Picture
Dr. Heather North holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado in 2008.  Since graduating  she has worked for five years at the other lead physical therapist at In Motion Rehabilitation in Boulder, CO which specialized in sports-related orthopaedic therapy.  While there Heather was awarded "Best Sports Medicine Doctor" in the Mountain/West region of the United States by Competitor Magazine in 2012. Heather stepped out on her own and established her own practice - Red Hammer Rehab which has won "Best Sports Medicine Rehab Facility" in 2013 along with Dr. North being awarded "Best Sports Medicine Doctor" yet again in 2013 as well.

Heather’s focus is on sports medicine and orthopaedic manual and manipulation physical therapy.  She is known for being aggressive with injuries and focusing on discovering and fixing the mechanics behind each and every injury.  She believes that it is important to continue to learn the newest and most up to date techniques.  Heather’s philosophy revolves around getting patients recovered quickly and teaching them to sustain a healthy state.  Injuries can only be eliminated by addressing biomechanical causes and then aggressively treating the damage created from these issues.

Heather has created "Hard Core Burn" classes that are exclusively designed to keep athletes healthy and strong year round.  Great care is taken  to focus on the muscles that endurance athletes need to stay injury free and to maintain speed and strength.
